Many printers are requested color draw-downs by their customers. This process can be inconsistent and expensive, so the GFI crew went to work again to provide an automated solution. The MxP-2 provides mechanical repeatability that is unachievable through traditional products. This means the colors you see with the MxP-2 have a much better chance of matching what actually comes off your presses.
Mechanical Consistency
Because the machine is fully automated, you will not see color variations typically found with legacy proofing systems. The MxP-2 has been designed to create draw-downs with a uniform consistency of less than 1 dl. across the proof.
Solid, durable design
The MxP-2 is a finely manufactured product, with no expense sparred. Heavy duty, sturdy aluminum construction, and reliable pneumatic parts ensure a lifetime of performance accuracy.
Minimal Intervention
Use GFI’s pipette to meter an exact amount of ink onto the roller, fasten your substrate onto the platen, and hit ‘start‘. The MxP-2 takes it from there, providing an accurate proof in a matter of minutes.
Electronic IMP (Ink Measuring Pipette)
Applying controlled amounts of ink, will ensure your colors will not vary. The electronic IMP (Ink Measuring Pipette) provides consistent doses within .005 ml, and comes standard with the purchase of the MxP-2 Proofer.

How long does it take to create a draw-down?
Creating a draw-down takes approximately 5 minutes, including clean up.
Can I customize the pressure?
The pressure dial can be adjusted and customized for your application.
Does my stock/substrate make a difference?
The MxP-2 handles all types of substrates. Note that different colored substrates will affect how the color looks. Colors may need to be re-formulated for uncommon substrates.
What is the Pipette?
The electronic pipette is an easy to use and highly accurate tool that is included with the MxP-2. It uses disposable syringe tips and can dispense as little as .005 ml. This ensures accuracy in a crucial part of the proofing process.
