EvolvePro is the software that controls the Mx6 Formulation Ink Dispenser. This easy to use and highly graphical platform essentially makes the Mx6 a vending machine for PMS and Spot Colors. How long does it take to be trained?
Basic training can be taught in less than 10 minutes. More advanced functions can be taught through GFI’s service department, and never exceeds more than a day of training.
Why is my ink manufacturer’s color database so important?
Pairing with a good ink company is crucial to your success with the Mx-Series™ dispensers. You will not see the same level of color accuracy with every ink company. This is because the dispenser is only as good as the formulation database it is working off of. The dispenser will measure the ink correctly, but if the formula is off, the color will be off. Each ink manufacturer needs a different database because their mixing bases are created differently. Some ink manufacturers have been working diligently for years on creating a competent database to match their mixing bases. Others have not. Contact a GFI sales representative to find out how your ink manufacturer’s database has been performing in the field.
Does EvolvePro speak to my spectrophotometer?
Using X-Rite® formulation software, EvolvePro can indeed speak to a spectrophotometer. This allows you to create custom match colors in-house and save them to EvolvePro for future use. Advanced training may be required.
Can I create different access rights for different operators?
Yes. This can be done easily by creating different password protected security groups within the software setup section of EvolvePro.
Does it track my inventory?
EvolvePro keeps track of the “on-board” ink within the cartridges, as well as your backup cartridge inventory. Some printers have even used this feature to inventory other items completely unrelated to the dispensing process.
How do I review reports?
Reports can be seen on the dispenser itself by clicking on the “Reports” icon. Also, EvolvePro can automatically send out designated reports on a scheduled basis to numerous e-mail addresses within the company.
